Essential’s Treepac concept has the potential to revolutionize the way the world looks at the box - a currently pale, boring, object that’s contents are often the only things on peoples’ minds. The Treepac’s wood-based, sustainable structure is designed to improve its durability and resistance to rain, snow, and damage in an effort to encourage its users to re-use the box again and again.

Unfortunately, the world is a little bit attached to its existing cardboard variety but, with green growing ever more popular in the eyes of both consumers and companies alike, the Treepac could indeed become a reality (some day). Its recent reception of a Silver International Design Excellence Award by the IDSA is a great start for the eco-friendly box of the future, but the design still has a long way to go before your next box from Amazon reads “Treepac” along the side.
